Call For Nominations

Nomination Deadline August 18, 2021
Craft Nova Scotia is the officially recognized provincial crafts organization, with a mandate to encourage and promote crafts in Nova Scotia, and to increase the public awareness and appreciation of craft products and activities.  We are a registered non-profit charitable organization.
With the Annual General Meeting of Craft Nova Scotia coming up on September 29th it is once again time for you to consider those people who will represent you as officers of the Craft Nova Scotia Board, and Standards Committee.
Nominations must be made and seconded by members in good standing, and nominees must give permission to allow their names to stand. If you cannot obtain the signature of your seconder, arrange by telephone to have them send the signed nomination form directly to the office. Board nominees must be members of Craft Nova Scotia in good standing.
THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO VACANCIES FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AT THIS TIME. Any nominations received by August 18, 2021 would result in a written vote prior to the AGM as noted in section 10.2 Conduct of Elections in the Craft Nova Scotia Memorandum of Association and By-Laws.
Standards Committee members should be recognized authorities in their medium and need not be members of Craft Nova Scotia. To assist in broadening our representation on the Standards Committee, the committee is seeking candidates with experience and technical knowledge in disciplines not fully represented by existing members. The Committee would especially welcome nominations of craftspeople and makers from throughout Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw, with experience in craft traditions and practices, from members of Indigenous communities, from the African Nova Scotia community, the Gaelic community, the Acadian community, and immigrant communities to work with Craft Nova Scotia in celebrating Nova Scotia’s cultural diversity through craft.
THERE IS CURRENTLY ONE VACANCY ON THE STANDARDS COMMITTEE AT THIS TIME. If more than one nomination is received this would result in a vote at the AGM on the full slate of Standards Committee members.
