Two exhibitions on view now at the Centre for Craft Nova Scotia: Fragments by Grace Han and ELBOWS UP!
Join us at the Mary E. Black Gallery and the Residency Studio for two powerful exhibitions that celebrate the depth and diversity of craft, highlighting how makers express both personal journeys and shared cultural stories.
On view at the Mary E. Black Gallery: Fragments by Grace Han
Fragments invites you into the delicate yet bold world of ceramic artist Grace Han. Through her work, Han uncovers the power of what lies in between; the spaces where cultures, identities, and traditions overlap, shift, and evolve.

About the artist
Grace Han is originally from South Korea and is now based in Canada. Drawing on traditional Korean ceramic techniques, Han balances strength and fragility with striking large-scale red clay forms and fine porcelain pieces. Her physically demanding process becomes a unique visual language, one that tells a story of resilience and belonging in ways words cannot.
On view at the Residency Studio: ELBOWS UP!
What does it mean to stand together as Canadians? Beyond the symbols and the history books, ELBOWS UP! explores this question through the work of artists who transform resilience, pride, and unity into craft.
Presented in partnership with the Lunenburg School of the Arts, this group exhibition responds to Trump’s suggestion that Canada become the 51st state. Reflecting Canada’s diverse voices, each piece is a reminder that our shared story is rooted in difference as much as in common ground. Together, these works celebrate sovereignty, strength, and the beauty of a nation always in the making.
