Mengnan Qu

Meet the artist behind Hands On: Halifax-based artist and educator Mengnan Qu.

Mengnan Qu holds a BFA from NSCAD University and an MFA from SUNY New Paltz, and currently teaches in NSCAD’s Jewellery Department.

An independent artist based in Halifax, she works across diverse materials, blending traditional and contemporary approaches to explore process, storytelling, and cultural perspective.

Qu’s dedication has been recognized with awards such as the Enamelist Society Juror’s Choice, the Niche Award, and as a Talente Award Finalist.

Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions in Canada and China, and in group shows across Europe, Asia, and North America.
