Assessment Application Checklist

The online application form requires the following information:

  1. Maker/business bio (max. 300 words) and general information
  2. Website, social media links (if applicable)
  3. 1–5 photographs of your retail / market set up (to show how your pieces would be displayed)
  4. 3–5 photographs of additional pieces which will not be physical submissions (ie. an extra sampling of work for the committee to see)
  5. Cultural context statement (if applicable) Our submission form asks applicants to include a cultural context statement to provide the committee with more information to assess questions of cultural appropriation and cultural knowledge. If your work reflects, represents, is inspired by or draws upon cultural knowledge, wisdom, visual language, or narrative based on or in a specific cultural, politicized, or racialized group, please articulate the group that your work represents, and how you are connected to that group.

The physical submission requires:

  1. At least 6 pieces of work with necessary material/usage labels attached (if your work falls under government regulations), ideally securely packed in boxes
  2. Identification labelling (ie. Item 1, Item 2, etc.) for each of your physical submissions
  3. Promotional materials like business cards, brochures, product packaging
