Passages Gallery
Rentals at Craft Nova Scotia
Craft Nova Scotia is pleased to present a new rental gallery at 1061 Marginal Road. This rentable space is perfect for exhibitions, pop-ups, talks, meetings, receptions and workshops. In the Fall of 2025, we installed gallery standard lighting, painted, and reset the space for 40 Days of Fine Craft. Now, the space is a flexible gallery which members, community partners, and the public can book through our rental program.
Passages Gallery takes its name from Craft Nova Scotia’s location at the Halifax Seaport, a place shaped by centuries of passage. For generations of Mi’kmaq, since time immemorial, these waters were routes of movement, exchange, and connection, carrying stories and relationships across Mi’kma’ki. In recent times, this port served as a gateway for passage of settler immigrants to these shores at Pier 21. The name “Passages” acknowledges these deeper histories while also reflecting the creative passage from idea to object and from maker to audience.
As a flexible rental space for exhibitions, talks, workshops, receptions, and experimental pop-up events, Passages is conceived as a space for gathering— one that welcomes new encounters and shared experiences where histories, materials, and makers meet.
