This course is a dedicated space for women and gender-diverse individuals, with the focus of creating a welcoming environment for folks who have felt unwelcome in woodworking spaces.
Always wanting to learn how to make your own wood bowl from start to finish? This is your chance! Over the span of this course, you will walk through all the necessary steps from how to prepare a bowl blank, the different ways to mount a blank to the lathe, the use of bowl gouges and the creation of a tenon. As students become more comfortable on the lathe, we will turn our focus to shaping the bowls exterior, using a dovetail chuck and form the rim of your bowl. The course will also cover clearing the interior of your bowl, proper sanding techniques and finishing methods.
