Craft Nova Scotia's Centre for Craft is seeking instructors to teach our Craft Foundations courses in ceramics, jewellery, and weaving.
The Craft Foundations courses are standardized courses intended to guide students from learning the basics of a craft medium, to becoming self-sufficient artists.
Our ideal candidates are professional artists with previous experience teaching and facilitating visual arts to adult audiences. We are currently looking for instructors to teach the following courses in the Fall 2024 Term. The term runs from September 15th to November 16th.
- Beginner Ceramics
- Intermediate Ceramics
- Advanced Ceramic Projects
- Beginner Jewellery
- Intermediate Jewellery
- Beginner Weaving
Courses are a total of 24 hours long, running once a week for 8 weeks (3 hours per session). Instructors will receive a standardized curriculum from Craft Nova Scotia.
Interested in teaching? Complete the Craft Foundations Instructors Application form before August 20th. The form will ask for the following information:
- Contact information (email, phone number)
- A short paragraph describing your experience as an artist and instructor
- An artist's CV highlighting teaching experience
- Instructor’s availability between September 15th and November 16th
Successful applicants will be contacted by August 23rd.
Instructors receive a lump-sum payment based on their level of experience, ranging from $784.00 to $952.00 for 28 hours of work. Working hours may vary depending on the course.
