In this workshop, students will learn how to make a blank book using the Piano Hinge Binding technique. This is a modern style of binding that incorporates narrow rods in the spine thus creating a very flexible opening. These books work well as scrapbooks or albums since there is natural expansion in the spine that makes room for items to be added to the the pages such as photos or scrapbook elements. This workshop will provide experienced students will a new, creative approach to making album-style books or it will be a fun and rewarding introductory project for folks with no bookbinding experience.
